Titan XD, Maxima, Altima Score Highly in J.D. Power APEAL Study

The results of the J.D. Power U.S. Automotive, Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) study were unveiled last week, and three Nissan models - Titan XD, Maxima, and Altima - scored particularly well. The study is based on the results of survey responses from purchasers and lessees of new vehicles. Owners are asked to evaluate their car, truck, or SUV on 77 specific attributes. The results of the study offer evidence that Nissan's combination of advanced safety, convenience, and connectivity technologies rate well with customers.

"It is gratifying to see three vehicles that are either all-new or redesigned receive such high marks from customers," said Christian Meunier, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing and Operations, U.S.A., Nissan North America, Inc. “And along with our best-selling sedans and crossovers, Nissan is providing more options as we launch the ‘Year of the Truck’ with our all-new TITAN and TITAN XD trucks.”

In the Large Light Duty Pick segment, Titan handily outscored all competitors, taking first place with a score of 867 points. Maxima scored 857 on its way to winning the Large Car segment, while Altima improved seven points over last year to take second in the Midsize Car segment with 824 points. According to a recent press release, Murano and Sentra scored well at 831 and 814 points, respectively, but lacked sample size in this year’s survey to qualify in their segments from J.D. Power.
